Ingredients
- 1kg de Rice
- 1teaspoon de Garlic powder
- 1teaspoon de Turmeric
- 1teaspoon de Paprika
- 1teaspoon de Lemon and pepper seasoning
- 1tablespoon de Dry vinaigrette seasoning mix
- 1dessert spoon de Salt
- 1unit de Lime juice
- drizzle de Oil
- 600ml de Water
- to taste de Fresh herbs (Cilantro/Parsley) opcional
Instructions
Season 1 kg of rice with garlic powder, turmeric, paprika, lemon and pepper seasoning, dry vinaigrette mix, salt, and the juice of one squeezed lime.
Let the seasoned rice marinate for 15 minutes.
In a pot, add a drizzle of oil and sauté the seasoned rice for about 5 to 8 minutes to toast it well.
Dica: Sautéing helps ensure the rice comes out fluffy.
Add approximately 600 ml of water (or the equivalent of two measures of water for every one measure of uncooked rice).
Dica: If using a conventional stovetop, add the necessary water for cooking, as the water used for toasting may evaporate. The ideal ratio is one and a half to two fingers' width of water above the rice level.
Cover the pressure cooker and, once it reaches full pressure, cook for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Turn off the heat.
Dica: If using an electric pressure cooker, cook for the programmed time setting for rice.
After cooking, wait 10 minutes for all the residual pressure to release from the cooker before opening.
Dica: Opening the cooker before all the pressure has dissipated can compromise the texture of the rice.
Check the rice texture, which should be fluffy and dry, and finish by sprinkling fresh herbs ('cheirinho verde') to taste.
Dica: This recipe allows for a complete meal cooked in a single pot.
