Ingredients
- 12tablespoons de Lye flakes (Sodium Hydroxide)
- 200ml de Water
- 1,2L de Oil
- 150ml de Bleach
- 150ml de Dish Detergent
- 2tablespoons de Sugar
Instructions
Dissolve 12 tablespoons (approximately 5.3 oz) of lye flakes in 200 ml of water, setting the mixture aside to allow the lye to melt.
Dica: Measuring by the tablespoon is suggested for those who do not have a scale or measuring cup.
In the blender, add 1.2 L of oil and 150 ml of bleach.
Dica: Mention the regional name for bleach in your area.
Add 150 ml of dish detergent and two tablespoons of sugar, blending the mixture for another 30 seconds.
Dica: Sugar is added to help protect your hands.
Incorporate the diluted lye solution by pouring it into the mixture in the blender. Cover the appliance, but quickly open the lid briefly to release accumulated gases, noting that the mixture will become thick and the blender jar will get hot.
Dica: Do not allow excessive pressure to build up in the blender.
Quickly transfer the mixture to molds, as it hardens very fast.
Dica: This process needs to be swift due to the rapid solidification of the mixture.
Wait for it to harden completely before trying out the soap. It is recommended to wait three days to one week before handling or using, due to the high concentration of lye.
Dica: The product is considered soap as soon as it finishes hardening, but the waiting period ensures greater safety.
