Ingredients
- eggs
- sugar
- oil
- 50% cocoa powder
- warm water
- all-purpose flour
- baking powder
- sugar
- cocoa powder
- butter or margarine
- milk
- melted chocolate
- heavy cream
Instructions
In a bowl, add the eggs, sugar, oil, and 50% cocoa powder. Mix these ingredients by hand using a whisk until you achieve a smooth mixture.
Dica: Mixing the cocoa powder in at this stage helps it incorporate evenly into the batter.
Alternate adding the warm water and the all-purpose flour to the previous mixture, continuing to whisk until well combined.
Gently fold in the baking powder into the batter, mixing delicately with love to ensure the cake rises nicely.
Dica: A chocolate cake made without love doesn't rise beautifully.
Pour the batter into the greased pan and place it in the oven to bake.
Prepare the glaze: In a saucepan, combine the sugar, cocoa powder (use pure cocoa powder, not chocolate drink mix), and butter or margarine.
Dica: Use only pure cocoa powder; avoid chocolate drink mix.
Add the milk to the saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, turn off the heat, as the glaze is ready.
Dica: The glaze is ready as soon as it starts to boil.
Prepare the ganache by separately mixing the melted chocolate with the heavy cream until you get a glossy cream.
To help the cake better absorb the moisture, poke numerous holes all over the surface of the still-hot cake using the tip of a wooden spoon.
Dica: The more holes you make, the moister the cake will be.
Pour the entire hot glaze over the hot cake, ensuring it soaks into the holes.
Dica: Apply the glaze while the cake is still hot.
Finish assembling the cake by covering it with the prepared chocolate ganache.
