Ingredients
- 1,5cup de Red cabbage
- 2cloves de Garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt
- 1cup de White rice
- Water
Instructions
Process the red cabbage until you achieve the desired consistency (it can be chopped or shredded if you are not using a food processor).
Dica: Processing helps the cabbage blend in more evenly with the rice.
Sauté the garlic cloves in olive oil in a pot.
Add the processed red cabbage to the sauté and let it wilt briefly.
Season with salt, adjusting the amount to account for both the cabbage and the rice.
Dica: Add slightly more salt than you normally would for plain white rice.
Add the white rice and mix well so it absorbs the flavor.
Add water (preferably hot) using the usual ratio for cooking rice.
Dica: Using hot water is optional but recommended.
Cook the rice until the water has evaporated.
Dica: At the end, the rice will still be slightly moist; leave the pot covered to finish steaming and achieve the ideal texture.
