Ingredients
- 1can de Sweetened condensed milk
- 1/4cup de Cornstarch (Maizena)
- 2,5cups de Heavy cream
- 1/2liter de Milk
- Vanilla extract opcional
- 1cup de Sugar
- Water opcional
Instructions
In a saucepan, whisk the sweetened condensed milk with the cornstarch until completely dissolved.
Add the heavy cream, milk, and vanilla extract (if using) to the mixture in the saucepan.
Place the mixture over heat and stir continuously to prevent lumps and sticking to the bottom.
Dica: If necessary, lumpy mixture can be passed through a sieve.
Let it boil for about 2 to 3 minutes to cook the cornstarch.
Dica: The secret to avoiding lumps is stirring non-stop.
Turn off the heat; the batter will be soft but will firm up after refrigeration.
Pour the pudding batter into a serving dish and set aside to cool completely.
Dica: It is best to place the dish on a slightly elevated surface so the caramel doesn't run down into the corners.
Prepare the caramel by melting one cup of sugar over heat until caramelized; you can add a little water afterward.
Dica: It is recommended to make a large batch of caramel and store it in the refrigerator for later use.
Once the pudding batter is cool, cover it with the prepared caramel, using a spoon or sieve to spread the topping.
Refrigerate the pudding until it is completely firm before serving.
