This simple coconut candy recipe yields a traditional Brazilian dessert with a special toasted coconut flavor, easy to make at home.

- Shredded coconut

Instructions
In a saucepan, add the sugar and water. Bring to a medium heat to boil together.
Wait until the sugar and water mixture forms a very dark caramel.
Add the shredded coconut to the dark caramel and mix vigorously until completely incorporated.
Incorporate the sweetened condensed milk into the mixture and continue stirring well until the mass pulls away from the bottom and sides of the pan.
Pour the coconut candy mixture onto a surface (like a baking pan or countertop) that has been previously greased with butter.
Dica: Greasing the surface with butter helps prevent the candy from sticking.
Let the coconut candy cool and set completely before cutting and serving.
