Ingredients
- Sweetened condensed milk
- Heavy cream
- to taste de Ground peanuts
- Butter or margarine
- Sugar
- Peanuts (for garnish)
Instructions
Combine the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, ground peanuts, and butter (or margarine) in a saucepan.
Dica: Mix well until a homogeneous mixture forms, similar in texture to toasted cassava flour (farofa).
Cook the mixture over heat until it reaches the consistency of soft brigadeiro (a rolling consistency).
Dica: It is crucial to get the right consistency for the dessert to firm up.
Remove the mixture from the heat and let it rest, either at room temperature overnight, or in the refrigerator if you are in a hurry, to firm up.
Dica: Resting helps the mixture become easier to handle and portion.
Portion the mixture into small pieces, approximately 15 grams each.
Roll the portions into the desired shape (traditionally cashew-shaped) and coat them in sugar.
Finish each 'cajuzinho' by placing a piece of peanut on top, if desired, and serve.
Dica: Serve chilled for the best experience.
