Ingredients
- Lentils
- Aromatic chili pepper
- Garlic
- Bacon
- Complete seasoning blend
- Onion
- Tomato paste
- Cumin
- Carrot
- Black pepper
- Salt
- Water
- Bay leaf
- Lemon juice
- Scallions (green parts)
- Cilantro
Instructions
Carefully rinse the lentils.
Chop the aromatic chili pepper and the garlic.
In a pot, fry the bacon until it is very crispy.
Add the complete seasoning blend to the fried bacon.
Add the chopped aromatic chili pepper, garlic, and onion, and sauté well.
Stir in the tomato paste and sauté briefly, ensuring it coats the bottom of the pot.
Season with cumin, carrot, black pepper, and salt, mixing all ingredients.
Add abundant water and the pre-rinsed lentils, along with the bay leaf.
Cook the mixture until the lentils are tender, which takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
Once cooking is finished, add the lemon juice.
Taste the soup and adjust the salt and pepper to your preference.
Turn off the heat and finish the dish by adding chopped green herbs (scallions and cilantro).
