Ingredients
- 3 de Eggs
- 100g de Margarine or butter
- 1,5cup de Sugar
- 2cup de All-purpose flour
- 1cup de Milk
- 1tablespoon de Baking powder
- pinch de Vanilla extract opcional
- 1pinch de Salt
- 1can de Sweetened condensed milk
- a little de Margarine
- 100g de Coating chocolate (or melting chocolate)
- box de Heavy cream
- drops de Egg yolk gel food coloring
- 1/2can de Sweetened condensed milk (for second batch) opcional
- Sprinkles (optional) opcional
Instructions
In the mixer, beat the margarine (or butter) with the sugar until a smooth paste forms.
Dica: This can be done with a hand mixer.
Add the eggs one at a time, alternating with portions of the all-purpose flour.
Dica: With each egg added, incorporate a little flour to bind.
Gradually add the milk to the batter.
Mix the baking powder and a pinch of salt into the batter. If desired, add a little vanilla extract.
Dica: The resulting batter is a butter cake batter.
Transfer the batter to a bundt pan (center-hole pan) and bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approximately 40 minutes.
Dica: Baking time may vary; watch for doneness.
Prepare the frosting: In a saucepan, mix one can of sweetened condensed milk, a little margarine, the coating chocolate, and the heavy cream.
Cook the mixture over heat until it reaches the consistency of soft truffle filling (brigadeiro de colher), when it starts to bubble on the surface.
Dica: The ideal consistency should not be hard.
Remove the brigadeiro from the heat and let it cool slightly before adding the egg yolk gel food coloring. Add the coloring little by little until you achieve the desired color.
Dica: Gel coloring has good color retention, but use it sparingly.
Optionally, prepare a second batch of brigadeiro (using half a can of sweetened condensed milk) for filling or additional details and let it cool.
Dica: Allow it to cool completely for easier handling.
Remove the cake from the pan. Spread the yellow brigadeiro over the top of the cake, letting it drip down the sides to simulate the sunflower petals.
Dica: For decorating the petals, the brigadeiro should be applied in a way that it flows downward.
If desired, finish the decoration by sprinkling sprinkles in the center of the cake.
