Ingredients
- 1cup de Sugar ~R$ 2,00
- 1/4cup de Water ~R$ 0,50
- 200ml de Whole milk ~R$ 1,50Substitui por: leite vegetal
- 4tablespoons de Sugar ~R$ 1,00
- 2 de Egg yolks ~R$ 1,00
- 2tablespoons de Cornstarch ~R$ 0,50
- 1tablespoon de Butter ~R$ 1,00Substitui por: margarina
- 1teaspoon de Vanilla extract opcional ~R$ 1,00
- Small sweet rolls (Bisnaguinhas) ~R$ 5,00Substitui por: pao de leite
Instructions
In a saucepan, mix the milk, egg yolks, and cornstarch off the heat.
Dica: Mix well to avoid lumps.
Place the saucepan over medium heat, add the butter and sugar.
Cook, stirring constantly, for about 5 minutes, until thickened.
Dica: Keep the heat low so it doesn't burn.
Remove from heat, add the vanilla extract, and stir.
Slice the small sweet rolls in half and press down the center slightly.
Dica: Create space for plenty of filling.
Fill the small sweet rolls with the custard.
Dica: Refrigerate to make the next step easier (optional).
In a skillet, combine the sugar and water over medium heat.
Wait until the sugar dissolves and do not stir anymore.
Leave on the heat until the syrup turns light amber, reaching between 298 to 310°F (hard crack stage)
Dica: Using a candy thermometer helps.
Carefully dip the top of the small sweet rolls into the syrup.
Dica: Use tongs to avoid burns.
Remove excess syrup
Let cool and serve.
