Ingredients
- 1/2cup de Butter
- 1cup de Milk
- 1cup de Sugar
- 1/2teaspoon de Vanilla extract
- 2cup de All-purpose flour
- 1tablespoon level de Baking powder
- 3tablespoon level de 50% Cocoa powder
- 140g de Semi-sweet chocolate
- 1box de Heavy cream
Instructions
In the blender, combine the butter (half a cup), milk (one cup), sugar (one cup), and vanilla extract (half a teaspoon). Blend the mixture for 3 minutes.
Dica: There is no need to add eggs to this recipe.
Add the all-purpose flour (two cups) and baking powder (one level tablespoon) to the liquid mixture and incorporate well until a smooth batter is achieved.
Dica: The resulting batter is great for those looking for an egg-free option.
Separate half of the batter into another bowl. Add the cocoa powder (three level tablespoons of 50% cocoa) to the remaining half and mix well to create the dark batter.
Dica: If you prefer, bake the cake plain white without adding the chocolate.
Grease a 20 cm by 8 cm baking pan with butter and flour.
Dica: The pan must be properly prepared to prevent the cake from sticking.
Assemble the marbled cake in the pan, alternating the batters: start with a little of the white batter, follow with a little of the chocolate batter, and then cover with the rest of the white batter before finishing with the rest of the dark batter.
Dica: To create the characteristic marbled effect, use a knife to slightly swirl the layers in two movements.
Bake in a preheated oven at 180º C (or 170º C for electric ovens) with top and bottom heating elements on for approximately 45 minutes.
Dica: Pay attention to the oven time; 45 minutes is an initial estimate.
While the cake cools slightly, prepare the topping by melting the semi-sweet chocolate (140g) along with one box of heavy cream.
Dica: Melt the chocolate with the heavy cream until smooth and uniform.
Remove the cake from the pan after it has slightly cooled and pour the ganache over the top, using a spoon to spread and decorate the surface.
Dica: Use the spoon to create a 'beautiful' look on the topping.
