Recipe Video
Ingredients
- 2identical portions de Beef (sirloin tips)
- 1tablespoon/teaspoon (not specified) de Baking soda
- 1a little de Water
- 1a little de Cornstarch
- 2portions de Soy sauce (shoyu)
Instructions
Divide the beef into two equal portions of sirloin tips.
Prepare the magic seasoning: dissolve one spoon of baking soda in a little water, mixing well until no granules are left.
Season the first portion of beef (the test group) by applying the baking soda mix, adding a little cornstarch and a little soy sauce.
Apply just a little soy sauce to the second portion of beef (the control group).
Let both portions of beef marinate in their respective seasonings for about 15 minutes.
Heat a skillet and place the first portion of beef in to cook, focusing on the magic seasoning (with baking soda).
Dica: Observe the cooking process; the beef with baking soda releases less liquid.
Cook the portion of beef without baking soda (control) in the same skillet, using the same heat, for comparison.
Taste and compare the tenderness, juiciness, and flavor of the beef treated with baking soda versus the beef seasoned only with soy sauce.
Dica: The beef with baking soda tends to be more tender and juicy.
