Ingredients
- Grapes
- 2cups de Sugar
- 2heaping tablespoons de Vinegar
- Green food coloring
- Margarine
Instructions
Wash the grapes and dry them completely with a paper towel.
Grease your hands with a little margarine.
Dica: This will help with handling the grapes and the syrup.
In a saucepan, mix the two cups of sugar, the two heaping tablespoons of vinegar, and the green coloring for the syrup.
Dica: After the initial mixing, do not stir the syrup anymore while it is boiling.
Bring the syrup to a boil and let it cook until it reaches the desired coating consistency (hard crack stage or similar).
Dica: The ideal stage is comparable to the syrup used for candy apples.
Remove the grapes from the skewers (if they are on sticks) and dip them individually into the hot syrup, ensuring they are completely covered.
Dica: Set aside a greased plate or surface to place the finished grapes to harden.
Transfer the candied grapes to the prepared surface and wait until the syrup hardens and the fruit is firm.
Dica: Handle with care immediately after removing them from the syrup, as the coating is very hot.
