Ingredients
- 1cup de Sugar
- 1/2cup de Water
- 2tablespoons de Vinegar
- 6whole units de Whole Cloves
- 1/2cup de Cold Water
- 1whole unit de Orange Juice
- 1/2whole unit de Lime Juice
- 3units de Dwarf Cavendish Banana (Nanica)
Instructions
In a saucepan, with the heat off, add the sugar, water, and vinegar.
Turn on the heat and mix the ingredients until the sauce reaches the color of a Guaraná soda—do not stir anymore once it starts boiling.
Dica: Do not stir the sauce after it starts boiling to prevent crystallization.
When the sauce reaches the correct color, add the six whole cloves.
With the saucepan removed from the heat, slowly drizzle in the cold water, drop by drop, to prevent burns and crystallization of the sauce.
Dica: The water should be added slowly, dripping, to prevent the sauce from crystallizing.
Add the juice of one whole orange and the juice of half a lime to the sauce, and return to medium heat to boil again.
After it comes to a boil, add the three Dwarf Cavendish bananas cut into slices.
Let the mixture simmer on low heat for 3 minutes, keeping the banana slices relatively intact.
Dica: The boiling time is short to maintain the structure of the bananas.
Serve the hot topping immediately over ice cream.
Dica: Try serving it with vanilla or lemon ice cream.
